Windows 11 New Update

Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.4880 (Beta Channel) – What’s New?

Microsoft has rolled out the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.4880 (KB5052100) for Beta Channel users. However, this update is only for those who haven’t upgraded to Windows 11, version 24H2. If you’re in the Beta Channel, here’s what you need to know about the latest changes, fixes, and an exciting update for the Paint app!

What’s New in This Update?

Microsoft releases updates in two ways:

  1. For those who have enabled “Get the latest updates as soon as they are available.”
  2. For all Beta Channel users (rolled out in phases).

Want to be the first to get updates? Go to Settings > Windows Update and turn on the toggle.

Improvements & Fixes (For Users Who Enabled Latest Updates)

✅ General Improvements

  • This update includes performance enhancements and minor tweaks to make Windows 11 smoother and more stable.

✅ Fixed Issues

  • Settings Crash Fixed: Some users faced an issue where the Settings home page would crash—this has now been fixed.

Known Issues (Still Being Worked On)

❌ File Explorer Bug

  • Some users are experiencing delays when closing File Explorer using the X button.
  • Other title bar buttons in File Explorer may also be slow to respond.

❌ Settings Issue

  • Enterprise-related settings (Device Info & Accessibility Preferences) are mistakenly appearing on personal PCs with Microsoft accounts.

🎨 Paint App Gets an AI-Powered Upgrade!

The Paint app (version 11.2412.271.0 and higher) is getting a major upgrade for users in the Beta and Release Preview Channels.

✨ New Features in Paint:

  • Copilot Menu: A new drop-down menu in Paint gives quick access to powerful AI-driven tools.
  • Cocreator, Image Creator, Generative Erase, and Remove Background tools make editing and generating images easier than ever.
  • Note: Cocreator is available only on Copilot+ PCs.
  • Each tool comes with a short description, making it easier to understand what they do.

🎨 How to Access? Click on the Copilot icon in the Paint toolbar to explore the new menu.

Important Reminders for Beta Channel Users

  1. Beta users will continue receiving updates for Windows 11, version 23H2 through an enablement package (Build 22635.xxxx).
  2. Microsoft uses “Control Feature Rollout” technology to slowly roll out features to different users and collect feedback before a full release.
  3. Want early access to new features? Turn ON “Get the latest updates as soon as they are available” in Settings > Windows Update.
  4. Some features may never make it to the final release as Microsoft tests different concepts.
  5. Features in development might not be fully translated into regional languages at first.
  6. Beta and Dev Channels are separate development tracks, so sometimes features will appear in Beta first.

📢 For a complete breakdown, check Flight Hub to see which build is in which Insider channel.
